PEACHES ARE HERE!!  Gundermann Farms, McKemie Farms and Caskey Orchards will all have some!  We now have delicious pasture-raised chickens supplied by Evans Eggs and Dewberry Hills.  Gundermann Farms should have some organic blueberries also, but get here early if you want them. McKemie Farms is coming with BLACKBERRIES!  Again, get here early....

We have quite a few farmers bringing zucchini now...and we still have lots of greens, onions, fresh garlic, kohlrabi, radicchio, some broccoli and cauliflower from Finca Pura Vida, etc. etc. etc.

Greenling Organic Delivery is now a sponsor of the Sunset Valley Farmers Market and you can see them at the market every Saturday.  They purchase produce from many of our farmers for their home delivery.  If you know of any people who can't shop at the market themselves, they might like to use this service.

Reliable Organics is bringing their greenhouse certified organic tomatoes!  They are supposed to be as  good as any organic tomato you can find.  Their tomatoes are available in cooler weather, as the Texas sun is too hot for them in the summer, so we will have them available for about a month, at which time the field tomatoes will be in.  Then they will be back in the winter.

Indian Hills Farm now has an (certified organic) erythritol sweetened granola.  Erythritol is a fruit sugar that has no effect on one's glycemic index and has no calories. Unlike stevia, it tastes like sugar with no aftertaste.  Katz' coffee also has this alternative to sweeten their coffee.

Some of our seasonal vendors are back:  Montesino Farms with their large variety of great produce, Bradshaw Farms has been here for a while with their stupendous lettuce; Blooming Idiots and Plantucopia have returned;with their great plants; Nile Valley is back with his refreshing hibiscus/mint iced herbal tea; and Texas Brisket Knife is back with his hand-made mesquite knives, chopping boards and meat-turners.

We also want to welcome Belle & Burger, Redeemed Recyclables, Myka Natural Cosmetics, Grafa Pottery, and Silverhawk Books.  We think they are all stellar and/or charming in their products.  We get many applicants and only let in a few, so they are all worth looking at.

You may have noticed we are not sending out weekly emails.  We will, however, keep this page updated weekly, and will elaborate on Vendors if you go to that page and click on their name.  Please give us feedback on anything concerning the market.

We are back in our regular location for the rest of the year, thank goodness.  Please bring your recycled bags for your purchases and cups for drinks!  We are putting out containers for recycling, so look for those when throwing away water bottles, etc.  If you ride your bike, there are lots of trees to lock on to.  You can always ask a vendor if you can lock onto their vehicle.

Celebrating our 11th year serving Austin.  Open every Saturday morning 9:00 to 1:00 rain or shine. Live music weekly hosted by Jimmy Joe Natoli.

We were voted by Eating Well Magazine as one of the top 5 farmers markets in the country. We won the Austin Chronicle's Best of 2007 Reader's Poll 'Best Farmers Market' and their 2006 award for 'Best Food Court.'  Wolfgang Puck has endorsed the Sunset Valley Farmers Market, and we were ranked as one of the top 10 Farmers Markets in the country (along with Madison, Santa Fe, Ithaca, and Ferry's Plaza) by the Audubon Society.  Finally, our own Pamela Boyar received the Farmers Market Manager of the Year 2005 from the North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association.
